KLH installed a Doosan Puma 480L, capable of CNC turning diameters of 25” and lengths of 80”. Of course, the Puma 480L is just a machine, and quality products are really a result of a mature quality system.

In preparation of KLH's upcoming AS9100
certification KLH is currently training internal auditors. This team of
auditors is responsible for ensuring conformance with the additional
requirements of the aerospace industry.
Most modern EDM drilling machines are CNC-controlled, few, however, are actually mounted on a CNC mill. By retrofitting an EDM driller onto a CNC mill, KLH offers small hole drilling in excess of 1800 lbs & 40 inches long.

As industrial demand for minerals increases,

On Friday, July 9th, the National Air Traffic
Controllers Association estimates 87,000 flights took to the skies. One take
off overlooked, however, was the take off of AS9100 at KLH Industries.
KLH has added a second Hurco VMX-42 to its steadily growing CNC machining department. While the second Hurco has many of the same specifications as the first, it comes with a few new bells and whistles.
For much of the early years, KLH Industries rode the wave of a new technology called wire EDM. In the modern days of KLH, measuring, planning, and preparing for stable growth is a primary focus.
In a flurry of new machines on the shop floor, one wire EDM machine has proven that age has its advantages. This Mitsubishi machine is proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks, but not without new ideas.
The quality lab can be a stressful stop in the
manufacturing process: final inspections, tight tolerances, and critical
dimensions. The pressure can get the overwhelming and blood boiling, but at
KLH, it's tough to break a sweat.
